Background on Cesvi:
Cesvi is a non-governmental, international humanitarian organization working for global solidarity in 30 countries throughout the world. Cesvi has been working in Western and Eastern Libya, with support from international donors and cooperating with local counterparts, since March 2011 in the following sectors: i) Protection related issues ii) humanitarian assistance iii) civil society support iv) refugees, asylum seekers and migrants program v) capacity building



The case worker will work into the framework of a program that intends to increase the access to protection space and the ability to make informed decisions on further migration or durable solutions for migrants, refugees and vulnerable communities in the Western Libya with a specific intervention in the detention centers managed by the DCIM and in the urban communities.



Specific tasks and responsibilities





Monitor urban communities and migration detention centers to allow for the timely identification of vulnerable and at risk migrants and refugees;

In charge of case management, s/he will deal with the most vulnerable cases, ensure monitoring and follow up based on the identified need and the individual action plan;

Liaise with Protection Monitoring Officers and ensure referral of cases with specific needs for emergency assistance;

Provide psychosocial first aid and psychosocial support to vulnerable and at risk individuals identified in detention centers and urban communities;

Liaise with, and make referrals to, other agencies;

Provide information dissemination about the risk of migration, protection principles and available humanitarian services;

Represent CESVI in a professional manner in meetings and ensure good cooperation with local partners and other relevant actors;

Participate in multidisciplinary teams, trainings and meetings regarding, for example, GBV, Child Protection and mental health;

Maintain accurate records and prepare reports, document and share lessons learned and best practices;

Assist in performing other tasks as requested by the Protection Team Leader/Project Manager.

Responsible to: Line Management (Hierarchically and functionally) to Project Manager in Tunis. Functionally he/she will respond to the Protection Team Leader



Requirements:

Bachelor degree in social science, guidance and counselling or other related field.

At least 2 years of relevant experience preferable working with NGOs and with vulnerable communities in protection programs.

Demonstrated understanding of protection and ethical principles in humanitarian programming.

Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness

Training in GBV, Child Protection and other relevant subjects

Proficiency in English (read, write and communicate).

Duty station: Misrata and surroundings, including visits to other sites in Western Libya, if security allows.



Contract Duration: August - December 2018 renewable (2 months of probationary period).
