Security Guards Supervisor - United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya

Organizational Context:
 
Post is in Field Office. Incumbent assists the FSCO in ensuring UN Personnel, Contractors, Visitors and Properties within UN Benghazi Hub are safe and secured 24/7
 
 
 
Job Purpose:
 
Assist FSCO to monitor Security Guards Performance, Time & Attendance, Leaves, Security Equipment & Logistics and Ensure Safety and Security of UN Personnel, Contractor, Visitors and Properties in UN Benghazi Hub
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
UNDSS FSCO Benghazi will supervise the work of the Team Leader – Security Guard on behalf of the recruiting UN Agency(ies).
 
Reports directly to the FSCO all daily activities of the security guards including all safety and security activities of the UN Benghazi Hub,
Drafts and submits Duty Rosters, Time and Attendance Reports, Leave Reports for FSCO’s review and appropriate actions,
Maintains records of all team members’ performance and informs FSCO immediately of problems that might be envisaged/encountered,
Presents work-related issues, suggestions, complaint of team members to FSCO for redress,
Serves as Liaison between the Security Guard Unit and the FSCO,
Assists FSCO to ensure that Security Guards are properly equipped in carrying out their duties,
Assists the FSCO to monitor the performance of security guards, give them daily briefings for effective coverage of their various posts,
Conducts daily inspections of UN Benghazi Hub, identify vulnerabilities and make timely recommendations to FSCO for improvement/corrections, to reduce risk and prevent harm to UN staff and property inside the Hub,
Provides support to Security Guards on duty in conducting search of vehicles accessing the UN Benghazi Hub, verification of IDs of staff, contractors and visitors to prevent unauthorized entry,
Provides support to Security Guards on duty in monitoring security cameras and report to FSCO for action any unusual activities that might be observed,
Assists the FSCO in ensuring that Security Guards perform their duties and conduct themselves consistent with the SOPs.
Maintains inventory of security equipment – logistics,
Ensures that all security communication equipment at disposal of Security Guards are functional; otherwise report all faulty equipment to relevant Sections for correction,
Ensures that all disciplinary issues involving Security Guards are promptly brought to the attention of the FSCO for action,

Education:
 
High/Secondary School Graduate or Police or Military background
 
Qualification:
 
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in providing security services, including experience working in a Police or Military, Governmental or Private International Organization Security Service or proven work experience in security duties with an Embassy is an asset.
Language:
 
English and Arabic preferable
