Job Brief:

Responsible for researching and designing the processes and systems used to create nuclear energy and radiation. Develops instruments, monitors and designs nuclear power plants, and works on the nuclear fuel cycle.

Job Duties:

1. Develop the processes, instruments, and systems used in nuclear energy.
2. Design and develop nuclear plants that generate power.
3. Monitor plants for malfunctions.
4. Work on the production, handling, and use of nuclear fuel.
5. Oversee the safe disposal of waste produced by nuclear energy.
6. Research industrial and medical uses for radioactive materials.
7. Research radioactive atoms in nuclear reactions.
8. Design and develop reactors.
9. Design equipment that uses radioactive materials to solve a variety of problems in agriculture, medicine, science, and industry.
10. Supervise construction projects.
11. Supervise the loading of fuel onto a nuclear reactor.
12. Maintain safe radiation levels.
13. Oversee technicians who use radiation technology to manufacture products.
14. Research new uses for nuclear energy in the industrial field.
15. Develop new concepts of thermonuclear analysis and new uses of radioactive processes.
16. Develop reactor cores, radiation shielding, and related instruments.
17. Prepare technical reports.
18. Conduct research to modify known nuclear theories concerning the release, control, and utilization of nuclear energy.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear engineering or a related field of engineering.
2. Previous experience as a nuclear engineer or in a similar role.
3. Great mathematical and analytical skills.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Good communication skills.
