Position Title: Security Officer

Position Reports to: Country Security Manager

Field Site: Tripoli

Date Needed: February, 1st 2021.

Job Summary:     

The IMC Security Officer is responsible for the daily operation of all security-related procedures, protocols and internal reporting. This is to include but not limited to:

• Information on daily locations on halt (location activity temporarily suspended due to security/health/safety and other concerns) reports to be made available via email to the respective entities every workday morning at 08:00 Tunis / 09:00 Tripoli
• Daily Intelligence gathering and direct update of all and any added value information potentially, indirectly and directly affecting IMC operations to the Country Security Manager via WhatsApp and Skype.
• Collation of Intelligence of the week into a weekly Situation Report made available to the

Country Security Manager via email every Thursday at no later than 14:00 hrs Tunis / 15:00 hrs Tripoli

• Overall responsibility for the Security Guards in Tripoli, including but not limited to staff management, roster management, implementation of security-related protocols and procedures. Guard shift roster prepared and submitted to CSM 3 months in advance.
• Record any adjustments to guard shift roster due to sick or compassionate leave and submit to CSM.
• Submit recommendations of safety and security improvements for consideration.
• Weekly checks of all security and safety-related equipment such as (but not limited to) communications equipment (incl. chargers, batteries, base stations and charging cables – as applicable), hibernation kits & stock (where applicable) fire extinguishers, first aid kits etc. and reporting of all and any deficiencies to the CSM.

The above details the minimum requirement expected of the IMC Security Officer and is not an exclusive scope of employment. Duties may be extended within reason at the Country Security Managers discretion depending on IMC’s requirements at the time.

Main Tasks:    

               Daily tasks to be conducted:

1. Adhere to IMC security policies and procedures.
2. Immediately Inform direct supervisor of any incident that may impact safety and security.
3. Carry out spot-checks of the guards at IMC Office and guesthouse.
4. Routine patrols accompanying the assigned guard checking for any safety and security issues. It is the Security Officer’s duty to ensure all security systems such as the CCTV and PIDS alarms are in immaculate working condition.
5. Reporting of all and any faults and service issues of the security systems are to the CSM /Logistics dept.
6. Submit recommendations of safety and security improvements for consideration.
7. Ensure all the guards have reported working and are assigned duties.
8. Use the information collected from guards to compile comprehensive security weekly report.
9. Weekly checks of safety and security equipment as per the above description.
10. Record any adjustments to guard shift roster due to sick or compassionate leave and submit to CSM.
11. Perform any other duties assigned by the CSM.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.

Any other duties that may be assigned from time by supervisors
