Job requirements
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate Degree in Engineering from Recognized University
- University graduate or above in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Studies or other appropriate discipline
- Languages: fluent in English.
EXPERIENCE:
- Over 10 years of experience in engineering and construction projects plus 5 years previous experience as contract engineer.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:
- Ability to work and communicate effectively within an integrated multi discipline team
- Experience in handling EPCC Contracts
- Good written communication skills
- Prior work experience in Libya would be an asset
- PMC experience would be beneficial
- High value major capital projects experience
- Contracts Management Qualification.
Roles And Responsibilities:
- Coordinate contract management and planning activities for the EPC Work Package with Engineering, Project Controls and Construction
- Issue Contract Close-Out documentation: Contract Close-Out Change Order, Certificate of Final Completion and Waiver of Lien; participate in contract cost review and regular project progress meeting; assist with preparation of monthly contracts and project progress reports
- Assist with preparation of monthly contracts and Project progress reports
- Review EPC contractors’ invoices and prepare Progress Payment Certificates with Cost Control, as well as costs, forecasts and requests for extras
- Facilitate and participate in review and resolutions of EPC Contractors’ claims
- Assess the effectiveness of the systems and work methods in use and propose improvements for the approval of management
- Any other commercial functions the project manager may assign
- Preparation and control of tender/contract documents to be used for the selection and appointment of contractors for work or services on projects
- Attend site weekly progress meeting and taking notes of meeting
- Formulate and agree with the various task force members the contracting strategy and the contracting plan for the project. Update and re-issue as necessary
- Actively promote effective communication and relations with all other interfacing departments, disciplines and contractors in carrying out the assigned duties
- Participate in negotiation with contractors
- Manage a number of projects at any one time
- Recommending any system improvements/non-conformance of standards to company
- Producing and issuing of Method Statements and Risk Assessments for project works
- Scheduling of the direct and sub contract labour per project
- Review, record, control and resolve all variation orders with project manager.
