Job Description

TDH’s humanitarian relief operations in Libya began in 2018 and currently cover Azzawya, Misurata, Tripoli, and Zintan.  Libyan operations are focused mainly on Health, Education and Protection (CP, PSS, PFA) with Food Security and WASH components as required.  TDH continues to work closely with local councils/authorities and communities to provide humanitarian aid.

The Health Focal Point (HFP) will be responsible for COVID-19 response activities across Western Libya which will include supporting rapid response teams and isolation wards with necessary materials and training and providing community risk awareness activities for COVID-19 prevention.

Under the leadership of the Health Officer and Senior Management Team, the HFP is responsible for general project activities in his/her area of responsibility. The HFP ‘s work will follow the TDH rules and regulations and support the strategic framework.

Job Requirements

1. Implements and supervises the TDH activities at all sites for which he/she is responsible;
2. Coordinates with health care sites for TDH’s COVID-19 response;
3. Coordinates/collaborates with social service organizations, public safety personnel, and/or other agencies to enhance community health efforts;
4. Leads training with frontline health workers as required by institutions in the TDH network;
5. Leads risk awareness and community engagement across Western Libya to help support public health responses to COVID-19 in conjunction with the TDH Education Unit;
6. Supports the Health Officer in ensuring all documentation is completed on time and regular reports are submitted as required;
7. Supports any other areas of the emergency relief operations as time and resources allow as directed by the Health Officer or Senior Management Team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

•  Medical Degree
•  2 – 3 years work experience in a similar field
•  Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
•  Very good computer skills
