Background

Moomken for Awareness and Media is a non-profit organization founded in 2013. It works on raising awareness among Libyans on issues of importance for democratic transition and community development. The organization also focuses on developing capacities of journalists, media representatives, and national organizations on media related tools and issues, developing voluntary work and matching volunteers to work opportunities, facilitating network opportunities between community members and government institutions, and research and studies on political, economic and social issues in Libya. After achieving our main objectives through the few last years, Moomken has widen its horizons and raised their ambition by working on different aspects with international actors in Libya.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented, motivated, and creative editor and videographer to join our organization’s Media department. The successful candidate must possess excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to maximize the talents of their team. As the Creative director and Multimedia Officer, you will be responsible for capturing, editing, and producing photos and videos for internal and external purposes. The Creative director and Multimedia Officer should have proven camera and studio operation skills, basic audio recording skills, and solid editing skills. You should also contribute with creative video ideas to the projects you are assigned to. You will work closely with our creative graphic designers to deliver engaging content that meets the expectations of our projects and social media presence. He/she will be proactive, creative, organized, and full of ideas and passion for the role. He/ she enjoy working in a diverse role which requires both working alone and with others, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Tasks description:

  • Develop new video ideas and approaches depending on the project assigned to.
  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video’s creation.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of the projects’ desired outcome.
  • Create an initial proposed storyboard draft of the video to present to project manager and supervisor.
  • Produce and create professional videos.
  • Produce videos on editing software such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects
  • Improve video and sound quality using various video software.
  • Take photos during an organization’s activity.
  • Translate dialogues for videos from Arabic to English and vice versa.
  • Add captions and subtitles to videos, when necessary.
  • Edit photos on relevant software such as Photoshop.
  • Ability to prepare a visibility plan, when necessary.
  • Ensure videos consistently positively reflect Moomken’s values and visions.
  • Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Experience:

  • Prior experience with pre-production: preparation and breakdown of script (if needed), storyboard,
  • Prior experience with production: shooting videos and recording audio in and out of the studio, shooting on chroma screen, arranging basic lighting for the set.
  • Prior experience with postproduction: editing video and audio material; assembling that footage, adding music, voice overs, subtitles, visual effects, and sound effects.
  • Experience in editing with a variety of software programs such as: Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
