Communications Support Specialist - Pragma Libya

Purpose
The Communications Support Specialist (CSS) will play a key role in collecting and disseminating frequent updates and successes from the program, while keeping a finger on the pulse of the relevant local and national concerns and context.  The CSS will identify key partners and media for communicating stories, messages, short social media pieces, and other materials highlighting the program to key internal and external audiences.  The CSS will work with the Strategic Communications Advisor and other colleagues to ensure that the USAID/LPFM branding guidelines are followed, and to show that progress in governance, economic development, and public confidence are achievable in Libya, and indeed essential to countering instability and extremism.   Selected candidate will be based in Tripoli.
 
Specific Activities
Under the direct supervision of the LPFM Strategic Communications Advisor, and overall supervision of LPFM COP, candidate will:

Collect material for frequent (2-3 times/week) highlights of program activities/accomplishments.
Identify social media/media and other outlets for program highlights – within Libya, in the MENA region, and with USAID and strategic partners.
Write short highlights and stories featuring USAID/LPFM activities/accomplishments – coordinating with staff and partners in the field to gather photos/images and reflect an understanding of relevant contextual factors.
Support the branding and outreach efforts of USAID/LPFM to ensure that messages reflect how the Agency is promoting economic growth, reform, and stability in Libya on behalf of the American people.
Collaborate with USAID/LPFM partners and stakeholders to strengthen their communications capacity and ability to promote greater citizen engagement and transparency in governance.
Work collaboratively with USAID/LPFM staff and consultants on communications efforts.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by LPFM Strategic Communications Advisor and COP.

Deliverables

Prepare spotlight stories for each major LPFM event in Tripoli.
Ensure strict compliance with USAID Branding Guidelines at all LPFM events in Tripoli and report any issues to the LPFM Strategic Communications Advisor.
