GLOBAL OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Perform the operation of vehicle to deliver HI passengers and goods to ensure the safety and security transportation from departure and destination site at any relevant program or project movement requirement
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility: Driving vehicle
Aim: To assist the delivery activities of HI passenger and goods by respecting HI driving rules in addition to national driving rules
Benchmarks: A quality of driving performance secure and safe to delivery HI passenger and goods with the compliance of HI driving rules in addition to national driving rules
Activities:
 To deliver or transport HI passenger or Goods from any assigned departure to destination sites
 To immediately report to Logistic Officer in case of damage, accident or problem.
 Inform to Logistic Officer on the situation and location prior departure, during movement and arrival at destination
 To drive the vehicle with the speed and distance limit and rules justify in HI vehicle use and driving procedure.
 To fill “Discharge of Responsibility Form” and to get signature for HI external passenger
 Respect security distance: 70 meter between vehicles on open and clear road
 To cooperative & friendly with the people are on board
 Behave and drive decently, in respect to your environment, culture and people around
 To Always wear seatbelt in cars and helmets on motorbikes and ensure that all passengers do it as well.
 Ensuring the vehicle is correctly parked and locked
 TO DO NOT drive the vehicle while drunk or under any influence of alcohol or drugs. This will lead to immediate dismissal. (Driver is TOTALLY FORBIDDEN to drink alcohol or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs or any condition that may prevent driving safely.
 TO DO NOT drive the vehicle without carrying along with the valid Driving License
Responsibility: Daily check-up and routine maintenance
Aim: To ensure the Vehicle always in overall good functioning condition, clean, and equipped with vehicle standard tool kits, document and communication devices
Benchmarks: Quality of vehicle function condition, quality of vehicle cleanness, the availability of vehicle standard kits, document and communication devices
Activities:
 Daily check-up (before starting car engine), level of engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid, gear coupling fluid, tire air pressure, and etc
 Prior of departure, to ensure vehicle regulation documents, vehicle standard tool kits are on board and communalization devices are working well
 Before ending the day, perform general check of vehicle, make sure that the windows of the car are closed.
 Conduct the weekly check and report the supervisor regarding any need of repair & Maintenance; good lighting; clean air filter, fixings bar spring and shock absorbers, fixing the muffler, good body condition, tightening the bolts, the presence of lot attendants, purging the oil separator and etc
 Clean the car in daily basis, wash the body once a week and take to the service station for engine wash when it’s needed.
 Conduct the small repair after informing your supervisor (tightening of screws, top-up of liquids etc.)
 Report immediately every problem; notice in the logbook + weekly check-up form and to your supervisor.
 Responsible for the tools box inside the car: jack, spanner, iron bar, spare tire, etc….
Responsibility: Fueling
Aim: To ensure the Vehicle always with enough fuel and fueled in appropriate requirement
Benchmarks: level of fuel in the vehicle and record of fueling
Activities:
 Always keep one of the fuel tanks full or at least half tank if only one. For long distance both tank have to be full (if Vehicle has).
 To report immediately to fleet Officer the necessary of immediate refueling
 Always record mileage, date, amount of diesel taken and consumption in the logbook when refilling to full tank.
 Refueling must be done to only to full tank.
 In case of trouble (leakage or whatever), report immediately to fleet Officer (by radio if on the road) as no excuse will be condone otherwise.
 Always fill full tank at the end of the month for fuel consumption analysis
Responsibility: Passenger, Car and Goods safety & Security:
Aim: To ensure the security and safety of passenger, car and goods
Benchmarks: Quality measure of security and safety in delivery process of passenger, car and goods
Activities:
 To have a check with Security Focal Point to assess on road and security situation prior departure or collect information among drivers, policemen or whoever on the road condition and security status prior to any travel.
 Check before any departure that you have all documents in order for the vehicle (photocopy of the insurance, Road license, registration, mission order…)
 Always carry your driving license and personal documents (ID card etc)
 For long distance, carry a tool bag, spare tire, hi-jack wheel spanner, drinking water. The driver is responsible to take care of the tool kit and in case of any loss driver will be responsible. Check the contents of the tool kits prior to any travelling.
 Make sure that all passengers fasten their seat belt.
 Make sure that first aid kit is inside the car and completed
 Be patient, respectful and polite with policemen or soldiers at check point.
 Check the presence and the status of the identification of his vehicle before any trip.
 Never allow any weapon in the vehicle neither any passenger without informing your supervisor.
 Never carry personal things in the car without valid authorization.
 The driver must check and is responsible for what he is transporting.
 Collect information among drivers, policemen or whoever on the road condition and security status prior to any travel.
 Report to his/her supervisor in case of incident or problem.
 Responsibility: Maintaining of Log books and other documents related to vehicle

 Aim: To ensure all event related to the vehicle is recorded and can be track down
Benchmarks: Quality logbook data recorded
Activities:
 Responsible for updating the log book on regular basis, and must enter the travel information, fuel information and repair & maintenance detail
 Always check & update the vehicle file for necessary documents (Vehicle registration, insurance, Driver license etc)
 Responsible to enter the all repair & maintenance detail in “Vehicle Maintenance Form”
 Responsible to hand over the all monthly record to Fleet Officer (log book, vehicle maintenance record, weekly check etc.)
 Report to his/her Fleet Officer in case of incident or problem.
Other
 The loading and offloading of the goods. He/she must ensure that the material transported is well tied and arranged in a proper way. He will be held responsible for the things damaged due to carelessness loading.
 Follow the all HI policies & procedures (Work, Financial, Logistics etc.)
 Attend the all meetings whenever required
 Participate effectively in collective activities of organization
 Maintained the good working relationship with HI staff & external stakeholders (suppliers, HI partners, other INGOs etc.)
 Some logistics work can be required time to time (quotations, small purchases, generator daily check-up, water supply…)
It is a non-exhaustive list and your description job can be updated during your employment by HI.
Flexibility is highly required in job of driver. He must be flexible to follow the instructions issued by HI office from time to time.
HIERARCHICAL RELATIONSHIPS
Line manager: Logistics Officer and in very close collaboration with the rest of the team

Weekly hours: 40
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday from 08.30 to 16.30 including one hour lunch break (13.00 to 14.00)
