DDG Multi-task Team Operator - The Danish Refugee Council (DRC)

Implement Humanitarian Mine Action activities for DDG Programme in Libya, including the conduct of relevant EOD, BAC and survey tasks as required by DDG Operations Management.
 
Responsibilities:

Conduct Survey/BAC/EOD tasks assigned by your MTT Leader.
Conduct EOD spot tasks in compliance to DDG EOD SOP
Conduct transportation of dangerous materials in compliance with DDG Transportation and Storage of Ammunition SOP as well as national and international regulations.
Conduct any other tasks which you have been trained to carry out.
Conduct BAC in accordance with the DDG Standard Operating Procedures. An MTT Operator is directly responsible for the safety of themselves and others in the working area.
Conform to IMAS and LibMAS.
The ongoing acquisition and relaying of information about your current site and other priority tasks within your area of operations to your Team leader to enable accurate reporting.
Ensure the security of all equipment assigned to you by your MTT Leader.
Personally, check the serviceability of the equipment assigned to you by your MTT Leader, and report of any defects as soon as reasonably possible.
Carry out inspections of all applicable equipment at regular intervals (at least daily).
Report any faulty or broken equipment to the MTT Leader/TFM immediately for servicing or re-supply.
Report any loss of equipment to your MTT Leader.
Ensure high standards of discipline and conduct are adhered to.
Be respectful to your MTT Leader/Technical Field Managers and fellow Operators
Report to your MTT Leader for work assignments.
Report completion of work assignments to your MTT Leader, personnel attendance, disciplinary issues, logistical issues and security information to your MTT Leader.
Immediately inform the MTT Leader of completion of work assignments, possible security issues, logistical issues or interruptions in attendance.
Conduct any other reasonable task as directed by the Team Leader, TFM or Operations Manager.

 
About you

Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and (English Preferable).
 IT skills; Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
Team player.
An understanding and commitment to DDG/DRC aims and values.

We are also expecting:

BAC Operators course or relevant course.
Internationally Recognized EOD training.
A proven track record of a minimum 5 years Mine Action experience.
An understanding of INGO terminology and processes.
Ability to speak other International languages
Other relevant qualifications or training courses.
Full driving license.
High School education as a minimum
English – fluent both written and oral;
Arabic – may be considered as an advantage.

We offer
Contract length: 6 months
Designation of Duty Station: Benghazi, Libya.
Suggested start Date: 06 January 2020
