Health Field Officer - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC),Libya

The ICRC Delegation in Libya, has a vacancy for:
 Health Field Officer
The position will be based in Misrata Sub Delegation
 Successful candidate and under the direct supervision from his/her supervisors will set up and run operational Health activities in his/her Area of Responsibility, establish and maintain contacts with authorities at national, regional, local and hospital levels with Libyan Red Crescent, Ministry of Health, population, colleagues and other interlocutors
Main Responsabilites:
Field and operational activities :

Set up and run operational Health activities in Libya under the direct supervision of the Health delegate and the Head of Sub Delegation/Office
Establish and maintain contacts with health authorities at regional and local level.
Establish and maintain contacts with hospital and PHCC/DC authorities and health staff level
Establish and maintain contacts with LRCS, MoH, civil authorities, population representatives, and other relevant health interlocutors as requested by the Health Delegate and D/HoSD..
Work independently, under pressure and capacity to take initiatives when appropriate
Ensure team-work with sound communication skills; understand and promote the ICRC protocols
Drafts written report in relation to the medical programs and activities.
Executes administrative and office work related to the project and activities.
Integrate changes and deal with important volume of work
Keep discretion and handling confidential matters
Apply ICRC rules and procedures

 
Reporting :
 

Contribute to the monthly collection of data (PHC and Hospital MAD), Weekly Operational Report, Health Quarterly Technical Report and report on other activities such as field trips, meetings, training, workshops, telephonic contacts as requested by the Health Department


Register in the Document sharing programs of ICRC all documents are relevant for the history of ICRC in Libya.
Participates in the written translation between Arabic and English language of Health documents and information required.
Liaise with Health authorities as requested by the Health Delegate and D/HoSD.
Contribute to the HCID –dissemination, documentation and reporting.



 
Certifications / Education required
 

Valid medical diploma

Required background, skills and competencies:
 

 4 years of work experience in Health field and/or Humanitarian field
Good knowledge of the health system in the different geographical areas of Libya.
Fluent in Arabic and good  command in written/spoken English
Ability to interpret and translate accurately.
Good communication skills: Listening and interacting skills
Good confirmed computer skills in basic Windows programs
Good analytical skills.
