Job Description
Title: Psychologist
 
The project “Protection Enabling Environment and Resilience Services”, funded by EUTF, intends to strengthen protection and resilience of vulnerable migrants, refugees and host communities in Libya”.
The Psychologist will be in charge of providing Psychosocial Support to people in need of specialized services, with the aim to strengthen their positive coping mechanism and their resilience process.
 
 
Specific tasks and responsibilities:
 

Provide Resilience-Focused PSS to migrants, refugees and vulnerable Libyans in psychological distress through individual sessions and group support sessions in the urban context of Misrata;
Provide technical support and guidance to Protection and GBV Case Workers, during the provision of case management services to survivors of violence, exploitation and abuse;
Organize training for and conduct regular coaching to Protection field staff on MHPSS, including provision of PFA, Mental health and Psychosocial wellbeing, and recognition of psychological symptoms related to traumatic experiences;
Participate to weekly case management supervision meetings with Protection and GBV Supervisors and Case Workers when requested;
Support the Protection team in identifying/selecting suitable hosting families who can provide community care arrangement solutions to vulnerable migrants and refugees; support the Protection team in supervising the care arrangement;
Provide technical support to the team for planning and conduction of awareness-raising activities related to MHPSS;
Represent CESVI in a professional manner in meetings and ensure good cooperation with local partners and other relevant actors;
Closely coordinate with CESVI staff to ensure proper coordination, including internal referral and follow up of cases;
Submit weekly/monthly activity reports to CESVI management on the progress of psychosocial activities;
Fulfil any other duties relating to nature of the job as may be requested by the Supervisor for the best development of Cesvi activities.

 
 
 
Duty station:  Misrata
Responsible to: S/he will report directly to the Case Management Team Leader.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
 

University degree in Psychology;
At least 2 year-experience in individual counselling and group sessions;
Experience with NGOs, INGOs or migrants and refugees is an advantage;
Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines;
Experience in drafting and compiling reports;
Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic;
Knowledge of French is an advantage;
Excellent organizational skills;
Ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions independently.
