Role Summary:
Offers the opportunity as an experienced country finance manager to join the team in TRIPOLI, LIBYA
Essential Responsibilities:
The Lead Finance Specialist demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and branch objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the branch, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise
Serve as a business partner to the operating team to drive business initiatives, growth, and profitability
Partner with technical/business leaders and staff to drive operating performance and act as champion for cost optimization, productivity, inventory accuracy & utilization, as well as inventory standard settings
Ensure the implementation of financial policies & procedures
Perform and support internal and external audits and ensure controllership and consistency of accounting process across the operations, drive controllership awareness and processes through operations teams and ensures finance
Compliance
Country/product-line Responsibilities:
The Lead Finance Specialist should be able to support the day to day need including and not limited to:
Coordination with the global finance centers the bookkeeping for the branch, being the initiator or provider of the financial documents for the internal process (R2R, B2P, I2C, account reconciliation)
Initiate and complete the translation of NP branch’s commercial documents allowing registration of contracts and invoices for stamp tax.
Registration of customs Contracts and PO with Tax authority
Enabling stamp tax payment following registration of invoices in tax dep.
follow up collections & physical submission of invoices to the customer
Issue invoices to customs when required through the proper workflow
Monitor client’s past due and claim for payment
Collection of local cheques for LYD portion and ensure cheques are deposited it in the local Bank
Representation of the branch in Tax dep & SS authority
Be the custodian of the local cheque books
Monitor the local payment, organize the reception of supplier’s invoices and local physical achieve
Full compliance on SS and PIT tax payment, focal point with tax consultant
Interaction with the local Law firm and coordination with the branch legal counsel any issue regarding corporates compliance.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
· At least 6 to 8 additional years of experience in a financial position preferred in oil & gas
Desired Characteristics:
Master of Business Administration is preferred
Able to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues
Demonstrated team leadership ability
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
PC proficiency
Established analytical and project management ability
