ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/SCOPE OF WORK

Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications.
Actively participates in group or individual clinical supervision with MHPSS Specialist to discuss complex cases, treatment interventions, and overall job performance
Conduct on job and remote supervision at IMC field locations / affiliated health facilities to deliver individual and group supervision with medical doctors.
Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies of IMC and the Libyan Subspecialty Commission, procedures, standards, rules, requirements, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews; remaining available for emergency consultations.
Work with MHPSS trainer as a co-facilitator to conduct mhGAP trainings
To support trained doctors who are working within the framework of WHO mhGAP guidelines.
Provide individual supportive counseling sessions for cases for whom medications are not indicated
Provide on call based psychiatric consultations and appropriate treatment to the cases with the trained doctors.
Support Community Health Workers in conducting awareness sessions with beneficiaries once a month on MH related topics
Ensure documentation of all consultations and provide a regular written update regarding activities conducted via electronic data management system
Ensures patient confidentiality and data protection
Support the integration of mental health at the health facility level and provide feedback to clinic and IMC management.
Support the integration of MH services at different IMC MMUs and PHC.
Support implementation and ensure the effectiveness of referral pathways to higher level specialized mental health care.
Attend and participate in country program and feedback meetings as requested
Follow security protocols including: provide travel updates to security focal point and supervisor
Follow up the supplies of psychotropic medications to the targeted health facilities.
Liaise with IMC Health Technical Unit MHPSS team via the MHPSS Specialist.

 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Holds a degree in medicine with specialization in psychiatry and holds current license/registration to practice
2.Has a minimum
2 years clinical skills and experience in mental health and/or management of MNS disorders.

Skills and experience with administrative aspects of managing MNS disorders, including record keeping, follow-ups, and referral
Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
Diplomatic and able to network and build good working relationships
Able to provide feedback/reports regarding work -related activities
A good command of verbal and written English
