IT TECHNICAL SUPPORT/HELP DESK - Umbrella ltd



RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices routers, printers etc.


Check computer hardware to ensure functionality
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.


Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance.
Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
Manage and monitor installed systems and infrastructure.
Manage hardware and software inventory
Maintaining records of software licenses
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues
Prepare accurate and timely reports

SKILLS: 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science,  information technology, or a related technical degree is preferred.
Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time.
Ability to write and develop technical documentation and integrated systems operational views.
Solid communication skills in verbal and written English.
Good networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
Deep interest in emerging technologies required.


NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with an administration of Linux / Windows systems.
Understanding of virtualization technologies is a plus.
Experience with monitoring systems.
Experience with Microsoft applications and tools.
