Information and Cyber Security Analyst - Trans Sahara IT and Communications (TSIC)

Position:         Information & Cyber Security Analyst.
Location:                     Tripoli.
Reporting to:                     cloud solutions manager.
Working hours:         Sunday – Thursday 09:00 – 16hr00.
Annual leave:         30 days / annum.
Starting Date:                  00/00/2019.
Contract:                     As per the Libyan law.
Tax & Social security:         As per the Libyan law.
Compensation:                       Based on his OKRs/KPIs.

Brief Description:
Cyber security analysts help to protect an organization by employing a range of technologies and processes to prevent, detect and manage cyber threats. This can include protection of computers, data, networks and programs.
Broadly, you can work in one of the following areas:

Consulting, offering advisory services to clients as presales activity or security operations center SOC agent.
Working to protect the security of the organization’s own systems & data.

Responsibilities
As a cyber security analyst in TSIC data center, you’ll need to:

Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments.
Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.
Plan for disaster recovery in the event of any security breaches.
Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized or illegal activity.
Test and evaluate security products.
Design new security systems or upgrade existing ones.
Use advanced analytic tools to determine emerging threat patterns and vulnerabilities.
Engage in ‘ethical hacking’, for example, simulating security breaches.
Identify potential weaknesses and implement measures, such as firewalls and encryption.
Investigate security alerts and provide incident response.
Monitor identity and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorized system users.
Liaise with stakeholders in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations.
Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.
Maintain an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security.
Monitor and respond to ‘phishing’ emails and ‘pharming’ activity.
Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues and clients.
Give advice and guidance to staff on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelors in Information Technology or equivalent.
4+ year’s relevant experience is a plus.
Relevant industry certifications are a plus (CISSP, CRISC, PMP, ITIL, etc.).
Knowledge of PCI security Standards is a huge plus.
Experience on using SIEM tools like IBM Qradar and interpreting the outcome is a huge plus.
General knowledge in security management and risk management.
Speed and responsiveness in the facilitation of requests.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills both in English and Arabic.
Relevant experience on process documentation preferred.
General knowledge of project management.

Preferred Skills
You’ll need to have:

A passion for cyber security and a keen interest in IT.
Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware and security.
An understanding of the cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them.
A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus.
The ability to work as part of a team and to build strong relationships with staff and other relevant individuals.
Verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical team members and other relevant individuals
Time-management and organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Strong work ethic.


Ability to practically support principles of IT security and IT audit.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and an ability to analyze complex technical information in order to identify patterns and trends.
Demonstrated high level of integrity, ability to work with ambiguity, and strong sense of confidence to deliver on responsibilities.

WORKING HOURS AND PLACE OF WORK
• The Employee shall adhere to the working hours applicable in the Company, and shall devote all the time necessary for the proper performance of assigned duties.
• From the time the Employee takes up the assigned duties in accordance with this Contract, the place of work shall be at Tripoli & Benghazi Libya.
• However, it is agreed that for reasons relating to the organization and the efficient operation of the Company, the Employee may be called upon to change the place of work at the request of the Company.
• The Employee will be informed of any such decision at least one month in advance.
• The Employee may be called upon to travel outside Libya from time to time, in the fulfilment of assigned duties.
• The Employee may be called upon to travel within Libya and abroad for the requirements of the Employee’s work.
