Infrastructure Engineer - Trans Sahara IT and Communications (TSIC)

Position:         Infrastructure Engineer– Trans Sahara Company.
Location:                     Tripoli.
Reporting to:                     cloud solutions manager.
Working hours:         Sunday – Thursday 09:00 – 16hr00.
Annual leave:         30 days / annum.
Starting Date:                 00/00/2019.
Contract:                     As per the Libyan law.
Tax & Social security:         As per the Libyan law.
Compensation:                       Based on his OKRs/KPIs.

Brief Description:
This position will be a key contributor in projects and efforts utilizing cloud infrastructure platforms and standards. This position will also learn and apply development methodologies to automate and codify cloud infrastructure, increasing the agility with which infrastructure can be deployed and maintained. You will be:

Key contributor to Cloud Infrastructure strategy and design.
A primary advisor for our technology and business partners as they strive to best and most efficiently utilize Cloud Infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities

Responsible for planning, designing, building, and running servers, storage, network, and database technology infrastructure for known brands and platforms such Huawei, Cisco, Dell, IBM, Oracle & Microsoft.
Day-to-Day operations of the cloud Data Center infrastructure.
Quota & Capacity management (tenants and platform).
Operation and maintenance for Systems configurations and backups.
Implement cloud IaaS and PaaS technologies, including automation and orchestration, based on established standards.
Creativity and initiative to develop innovative infrastructure solutions
Participate in projects and efforts implemented on Cloud platforms

Qualifications and Education Requirements

3-6 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure technology is recommended.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in information technology.
Ability to provide on-call support for technical issues.
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies.
Familiar with server virtualization technologies, including on prem such as Huawei HCS, VMWare, KVM or HyperV.
Good Understanding of key infrastructure technologies such as:
Server (HW/Platform) – Windows and Linux.
Storage technologies.
Network fundamentals, including IP and Security.
Experience in implementation of some of the technologies below will be a plus:
IaaS on major cloud vendor – Azure, AWS or GCP, OpenStack, virtual machines, containers (GKE, AKS).
PaaS on major cloud vendor – Azure, AWS or GCP.
Security of cloud environment – network, user, container, portal and console, etc.
Network design of cloud environment.
WAN design for optimization of cloud and data center deployments.
Orchestration and automation of on prem and on cloud deployments – Ansible, Chef, Puppet, VRA, Rancher, OpenStack, OpenShift, etc.
Desire to expand skillset into development methodologies and languages to apply to infrastructure builds and automation (infrastructure as code)

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems in a physical and virtualized environment.
Huawei or Cisco Technical Professional Certifications (Huawei is desired in our case).
Programming and scripting (Linux shell/PowerShell, Ansible, python) is a plus.
A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus.
The ability to work as part of a team and to build strong relationships with staff and other relevant individuals.
Verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical team members and other relevant individuals
Time-management and organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to practically support principles of IT security and IT audit.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and an ability to analyze complex technical information in order to identify patterns and trends.
Demonstrated high level of integrity, ability to work with ambiguity, and strong sense of confidence to deliver on responsibilities.

WORKING HOURS AND PLACE OF WORK
• The Employee shall adhere to the working hours applicable in the Company, and shall devote all the time necessary for the proper performance of assigned duties.
• From the time the Employee takes up the assigned duties in accordance with this Contract, the place of work shall be at Tripoli & Benghazi Libya.
• However, it is agreed that for reasons relating to the organization and the efficient operation of the Company, the Employee may be called upon to change the place of work at the request of the Company.
• The Employee will be informed of any such decision at least one month in advance.
• The Employee may be called upon to travel outside Libya from time to time, in the fulfilment of assigned duties.
• The Employee may be called upon to travel within Libya and abroad for the requirements of the Employee’s work.
