Network Engineer - Trans Sahara IT and Communications (TSIC)

Position:         Network Engineer – Trans Sahara
Location:                     Tripoli.
Reporting to:                     cloud solutions manager.
Working hours:         Sunday – Thursday 09:00 – 16hr00.
Annual leave:         30 days / annum.
Starting Date:                  00/00/2019.
Contract:                     As per the Libyan law.
Tax & Social security:         As per the Libyan law.
Compensation:                       Based on his OKRs/KPIs.

Brief Description:
TSIC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our growing team. The network operations team is primarily responsible for the design and planning, implementation, and support within our data centres, and customer locations. The infrastructure and technologies supported by the network operations team, including the Network Engineer position, encompass: Huawei\Cisco Technology, LAN/WAN, switching/routing, VPNs, virtualized networking, and security. Other responsibilities of this team includes areas of disaster recovery, IP space management, network monitoring, diagnostics, security analysis, compliance and reporting.
Responsibilities

Lead various projects and tasks performed by the network operations team.
Provide ongoing maintenance for LAN/WAN hardware/software, appliances, and vendor coordination.
Adhere to industry standards and policies that support our data center’s infrastructure and operations, and be able to quickly adapt to a fast-growing network.
Represent the Company in project teams and customer Presales activities.
Become an active participant in monitoring, managing and supporting the network infrastructure.
Take part in “on call” rotation, and perform work during maintenance windows outside of normal business hours.
Participate in project work and problem solving related to the data center’s network topology.
Have the opportunity to remain current on new hardware and software developments, evaluating alternative approaches and recommending new hardware/software modifications which will enhance the network services.
Create and maintain documentation of guidelines and standards for specific technologies.
Maintain and update network diagram and documentation.
Perform configuration backups and change management duties.
Assist with firmware testing, planning, and roll-out.
Be responsible for asset tracking, including IP space, hardware, and contracts.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelors in Information Technology or equivalent.
4+ year’s relevant experience is a plus.
3 to 5+ years of experience administering LAN/WAN technologies.
Experience installing, configuring and supporting LAN Switching equipment and security devices, such as the Huawei/Cisco/Fortinet firewalls, IPS …
Experience with the following protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, and SNMP.
Hands on experience with IP sub netting, Telnet/SSH Clients, Terminal Server Remote Access, VoIP and MPLS technologies, and Linux/Microsoft network service configurations.
Experience configuring and diagnosing issues with Site to Site and Remote Access VPNs.
Experience with routing/routable protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, and other IP protocols.
Working knowledge of F5 and similar load balancers (HAProxy/NGINX).
Experience setting up and using network management and analytics tools, network tapping, and protocol analysis (Wireshark, etc.).
Experience using monitoring tools based off of NetFlow and SNMP.
Experience using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
Experienced with GRE tunneling and encryption.
Working with third-party vendors.
Experience with system and network administration in a virtualized environment (OpenStack/VMware/KVM/Xen).
Knowledge and experience in supporting large scale Systems over LAN/WAN topologies and Quality of Service (QoS) concepts.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills.
Demonstrate strong team building, consulting, and facilitation skills.
Demonstrate ability to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget, and with the required functionality.

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems in a physical and virtualized environment.
Huawei or Cisco Technical Professional Certifications (Huawei is desired in our case).
Programming and scripting (Linux shell/PowerShell, Ansible, python) is a plus.
A good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus.
The ability to work as part of a team and to build strong relationships with staff and other relevant individuals.
Verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical team members and other relevant individuals
Time-management and organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Strong work ethic.
Ability to practically support principles of IT security and IT audit.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and an ability to analyze complex technical information in order to identify patterns and trends.
Demonstrated high level of integrity, ability to work with ambiguity, and strong sense of confidence to deliver on responsibilities.

WORKING HOURS AND PLACE OF WORK
• The Employee shall adhere to the working hours applicable in the Company, and shall devote all the time necessary for the proper performance of assigned duties.
• From the time the Employee takes up the assigned duties in accordance with this Contract, the place of work shall be at Tripoli & Benghazi Libya.
• However, it is agreed that for reasons relating to the organization and the efficient operation of the Company, the Employee may be called upon to change the place of work at the request of the Company.
• The Employee will be informed of any such decision at least one month in advance.
• The Employee may be called upon to travel outside Libya from time to time, in the fulfilment of assigned duties.
• The Employee may be called upon to travel within Libya and abroad for the requirements of the Employee’s work.
