Duties and responsibilities Strategy & delivery –
Develop, oversee & deliver Generator’s sales and engagement driven marketing, communication and content strategy across all Generator brands that will lead to increased sales, increased subscriptions and market confidence for current and future sub brands and products – Ensure all Generator’s online presence is distinct from & adds value to online / social media activity across the wider creative sector & effectively articulates the key messages, strengths & core offer of Generator’s activity to all key stakeholders locally, regionally & nationally – Develop a rolling editorial / content development calendar for all digital channels – Ensure that the marketing of key events & activity is effectively programmed to ensure maximum impact of individual campaigns – Identify new media contacts, marketing trends & methods to ensure a ‘cutting edge’ approach to marketing & promoting Generator – Proactively develop innovative marketing initiatives responding to trends & opportunities particularly in relation digital marketing practice – Act as ‘brand guardian’ ensuring consistent use of Generator’s brand both internally & when used by partners including actively monitoring how Generator is represented by other agencies – Create and maintain a photo, video and case study library for use in publications & marketing materials.
Evaluate success, effectiveness & reach (quality & quantity) of marketing activity including providing Generator’s senior management & board with monitoring reports on the success of marketing & communications activity against Generator’s business objectives assessing success & demonstrating return on investment (ROI) – Developing contingency strategies where appropriate – Ensure effective marketing data collection & management including compliance with data protection legislation – Monitor all social media & subscriber channels & propose & implement strategies & actions which maximize Generator’s reach in these areas, setting in place a targeted approach to generating online sales, engagement & subscriptions from priority audiences – Ensure Generator has a strong understanding of the audiences (existing & potential) for all online communications activity & that all online activity is representing Generator effectively & meeting the needs of these audiences – Use data from digital marketing to create “sales leads” for Generator’s products and services – Providing data on Audience Trends to upload to Audience finder as required by Art Council England Other – Maintain an up-to-date database of key media, press & PR contacts – Build & maintain relationships with key media & press outlets identifying opportunities to promote Generator’s activity through these networks – Other duties commensurate with the role as defined by Generator’s senior staff.
Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing & communications Experience & knowledge of contemporary marketing practice & emerging trends Track record in data-driven marketing with demonstrable experience of using data / CRM software to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activity Experience & knowledge of marketing intelligence, Audience Segmentation & audience profiling Experience & demonstrable success in applying digital media marketing & social networking A track record of creative & impactful approaches to social media & digital content production Experience of working in & passion for the creative & digital industries Experience of working in a business development / commercially driven environment Skills or knowledge Excellent analytical skills and the ability to spot and capitalize on competitor and stakeholder trends. Strong creative problem solver & communicator (both verbal & written) with particular attention to detail Copywriting ability Deadline orientated & able maintain high standards when working under pressure Knowledge of data protection legislation .
