ICRC Vacancy: Prosthetist & Orthotist or Physiotherapist in Tripoli - The International Committee of the Red Cross

The ICRC Delegation in Libya has a vacancy for:Prosthetist & Orthotist or PhysiotherapistThe position will be based in Tripoli Sub Delegation

The successful candidate will contribute to the implementing, running and monitoring the physical rehabilitation program(s), in cooperation with the physical rehabilitation team, according to the objectives set out in the delegation’s annual planning for a specific geographic area or field of activities. S/He assesses and provides support to and within an ICRC-run or supported physical rehabilitation center and fulfils various roles to lead in the promotion, improvement, and maintenance of people’s mobility, health and well-being.
Main Responsibilities:

Contributes to the development, implementation, running and follow-up of ICRC assisted Physical Rehabilitation Centres (PRC).
Conducts regular field visits (as relevant) to monitor activities to help ensuring coherence between the different PRCs.
Facilitates field trips (as relevant) and helps communicate with the local population / victims / beneficiaries to access to services (transport, accommodation, financial food assistance).
Supports activities related to societal integration and sport for people with disabilities attending the PRCs.
Assist in Micro Economic Initiatives (MEIs) development and implementation.
Provides support in accordance with logistics standards, ICRC rules, financial procedures and regulations and statistical reporting using the Field Supply System (FSS) application and supports the PRP-Ortho warehouse in Misrata.
Follow-up on monthly consumption and inventory levels with PRCs and organizes distributions to beneficiaries in the field when required.
Ensures proper management of information collected and produces the subsequent reports, collection of monthly statistical data of service provision for people with disabilities at the PRCs.
Interprets at meetings and translates documents into Arabic/English.
Liaises and builds networks with local stakeholders to facilitate communication on and coordination of activities, thereby ensuring more efficient implementation of physical rehabilitation projects.
As a Physiotherapist or Prosthetist & Orthotist s/he delivers high-quality care to patients at PRCs during times of absence of others.
Participates in analysis of and reflection on the overall physical rehabilitation service provision situation; contributes to realistic project proposals in line with the delegation’s objectives and priorities.

Required background, skills and competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics or Social Sciences, with a valid licence to practise in the country of residence.
Minimum 2 years’ work experience in physical rehabilitation.
Relevant additional degrees (e.g. public health, rehabilitation techniques) are an asset.
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to adapt and interact constructively with others.
Proven planning and organizing skills.
Service oriented and flexible.
Capacity to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality and ethics.
Genuine interest in humanitarian activities (especially ICRC’s), previous experience in humanitarian environment an asset.
Good knowledge of the assigned geographic area.
Willing and able to travel between the different programs supported (Tripoli, Misrata, Benghazi)
