JOB DESCRIPTION
Context and environment:

Location: Tripoli.

Department: Geology & Geophysics (G&G).

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Activities:

Lead 1D interpretation (core descriptions, diagenesis studies…).
Lead 2D interpretations (sedimentary environment, structural studies, stratigraphic correlations).
Lead 3D interpretations (sedimentology, structural geology, participate in the development of geomodels).
Carry out appropriate geologic studies needed for the construction of geologic models.
Conceive geologic (static) models and guarantee the consistency of static and dynamic data syntheses.
Estimate and quantify uncertainties.
Contribute to the development of dynamic models and ensure the geological consistency of the dynamic model.
Ensure and/or guarantee the assessment of volumes in place and related uncertainties.
Ensure the contribution of the Reservoir Geology to the drilling campaign (ITD preparation..).
Conduct well syntheses studies that integrate many specialties.
Validate geologic (static) models.
Prepare scopes of work and relevant budgets in liaison with G&G manager.
Conduct negotiations with clients (costs, lead times, scope of work).
Conduct internal department studies.
Select and follow-up contractors, if needed.
Identify target fields, issues and potential research orientations.
Prepare the work schemes.
Conduct technical studies (full studies or part of integrated studies).
Draw up rules, guidelines and recommendations and pass them to manager.
Participate in peer previews, committees, study reviews, etc…
Ensure training of less experienced engineers (training courses, hands-on training).
Report all geological issues to G&G Manager in a timely manner.
Guarantee the communication with drilling and reservoir department.
Ensure the supervision of geological tasks in the Development geology section.
Coordinate with Data Management on issues related to geological softwares.
Participate actively to a good team spirit and working atmosphere within G&G and other Departments.
Ensure that all activities, especially operations, are in compliance with HSE guidelines.

Accountabilities:

Responsibilities are classified as contributive and shared.
Incumbent reports directly to the Geology & Geophysics Manager on all issues and intervenes on his behalf with regard to all of G&G geological issues.
Qualifications / experience required:

Education: BSc/MSc in Reservoir Geology
Experience: Must have at least 10-15 years of experience in various aspects of G&G and Computer Applications. Must have at least a minimum of five years in reservoir geology and geomodelling.
Required competencies: Sedimentology, seismic interpretations, petrophysics, structural aspects and geomodeling.
