Background on Cesvi:
Cesvi is a non-governmental, international humanitarian organization working for global solidarity in 30 countries throughout the world. Cesvi has been working in Western and Eastern Libya, with support from international donors and cooperating with local counterparts, since March 2011 in the following sectors: i) Protection related issues ii) humanitarian assistance iii) civil society support iv) refugees, asylum seekers and migrants program v) capacity building
Background on the project
The project “Life Saving Assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in Libya” funded by UNHCR, intends to promote a favorable protection environment for refugees, asylum seekers and irregular migrants in both Western and Eastern Libya through protection monitoring, provision of psychosocial assistance, and management of a Social Centre. Cesvi Outreach Monitoring Officer will work, in compliance with Cesvi policies and Code of Conduct, closely with Persons of Concern, mainly refugees, asylum seekers and their families. She will be in charge of conducting monitoring visits, assessing the protection situation of refugees, asylum seekers and irregular migrants in Tripoli and surrounding areas. The Outreach Officer will also be the focal point for community events.







Specific tasks and responsibilities:



In the framework of its action in Libya, Cesvi is launching a new project in Misrata, focusing on the promotion and protection of women rights and dignity. The specific objective of the intervention is to enhance the local capacity to reduce the incidence of Gender Based Violence in Misrata area, through two main results:




Victims/Survivors of Gender Based Violence (Libyan and not Libyan) have access to quality medico-psycho-social and legal support services;


Civil society organizations and women associations have better means and tools to improve the GBV response.



Requirements:






Bachelor degree in psychology, social science, humanitarian affairs or other related field.

At least 1 year of relevant experience preferable working with NGOs and with vulnerable communities in protection programs with focus on GBV response.

Demonstrated understanding of protection and ethical principles in humanitarian programming.

Good communication skills

Preferable ability to conduct training

Proficiency in English (read, write and communicate) and spoken Arabic





Duty station: Misrata and surroundings, including visits to other sites in Western Libya, if security allows.




Responsible to: Line Management Team Leader and Project Manager.
