Trade Marketing Representative – Entry Level Job (Tobacco) Tripoli Branch - Salvo Grima


Job Overview

The Trade Marketing Representative’s (Tobacco) primary role is to directly support the local manager, with the implementation of marketing strategies designed by the management team. The candidate will also be responsible for the daily market surveillance regarding Tobacco products by improving their visibility, market share, promotions, and other relevant strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • With the use of modern technology (mobile tablet), conducting an assortment of surveys related to tobacco daily.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Achieve 90% weighted distribution for key driver brands within the area.
  • Ensure 100% distribution for key driver brands in high-consumer profile districts.
  • Follow the daily/weekly Journey Plan provided by the line manager and implement blocking stock in 60-70% of the locations.
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales plans.
  • Establish excellent working relationships with the trade to gain active support, maximizing volume and in-store presence within agreed budgets.
  • Work closely with the distribution team to maximize distribution opportunities and minimize out-of-stock situations by proactively communicating distribution gaps.
  • Lead marketing campaigns and promotional strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation, coordination, collection, production, supervision, and follow-up of promotions and marketing events.
  • Represent Salvo Grima and its clients by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Perform daily market surveillance and prepare weekly reports on tobacco shops.
  • Consistently provide feedback on market activities and offer suggestions for enhancing the field sales app.
  • Initiate and analyze consumer and market research to identify market trends and target consumer preferences to improve marketing efforts.
  • Monitor competition activity and produce a weekly market summary report.
  • Maintain an internal database on product availability and pricing.
  • Contribute to the daily growth and development of the company.
  • Report accurately and clearly on activities undertaken.
  • Carry out any other tasks reasonably required in this position.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Basic marketing and promotional principles.
  • Open to working in the tobacco Industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Outgoing, energetic, detail-oriented, and responsible.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to think outside the box with a desire to grow and learn.
  • A basic level of English would be appreciated.
  • Available to work a full-time job, Sunday to Thursday (8 Hours a day)
  • Readiness to travel within Libya, as per the work requirement.
  • Own transportation.
