Class teacher – Year 2/3 - مدرسة المعرفة الدولية السراج


Job Description

  • The employee may be required to attend school meetings, training, workshops, field trips, and invigilation during exams and other school events (mandatory attendance, non-paid), and missing those without permission may lead to deductions. The school reserves the right to suspend, discharge, or make further deductions as deemed appropriate by the school in case of inadequacy, misconduct, neglect of duty, physical or mental incapacity, actions involving moral turpitude, or violation of the terms of the agreement.

  • Adherence to the class schedule and plan work in accordance with IKS Curriculum schemes of work and programs of study.
  • Identify clear learning objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed.

  1. Assessment, Recording and Reporting
  • Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use outcomes to adapt teaching accordingly;
  • Provide feedback and identify clear targets for future learning as appropriate;
  • Carry out assessment cycles (e.g. Class performance evaluation, homework collection, test evaluation, reports) as agreed by the academic office.
  • Attend the parent’s teacher meeting to keep parents informed as to the progress of their child;
  • Be familiar with the Code of Practice for identification and assessment of Special Educational Needs and keep appropriate records on Individual Education Plans for students.
  • Entering students’ evaluation to the school system according to the criteria provided by the examination office and the academic office.
  • Attending the weekly teacher’s meeting.
  • Documenting classroom’s activities by using the school application
  • Writing daily reports about students on the homework sheet in case of their shortening until the Administrative Affairs Officer delivers it to the parents.
  • Effectively communicating with parents through school’s App to build partnerships with parents to support student

 

  • Submit weekly or monthly reports according to the academic office plan about students’ performance in the classroom and evaluate them in general.

 

 

 

 

  • Full commitment to the weekly homework plan and the monthly tests attached to each classroom so that no conflict occurs.
  • Invigilating students during the midterm and final exams period, according to the schedule submitted by the Student Affairs and Examinations Office.
  • Marking mid-term and final exam papers in the place and time set by the Student Affairs and Examinations Office.
  • Submit copies of exam questions (soft copy) in the official exam questions form.

 

  1. Pastoral Work
  • Responsible for keeping calm and well managing the classroom.
  • Attend assemblies and actively assist in the supervision of students;
  • Monitor (and set targets for) the social and academic progress of individuals in the class, in coordination with social affairs office.
  • Promote good attendance and monitor in accordance with the School’s attendance policy.
  • If there is the suspicion that student’s performance deficits are due to health problems, the teacher has to contact the school doctor.
  • Cooperate with supervisors in adhering to guidelines for the safeguarding of children.
  • Responsible for organizing pupils inside the classroom in a queue at break and home time and lead the queue to the assigned yards under the supervision of supervisors.

 

  1. Professional Standards
  • Support the aims of the IKS to promote a “learning community”;
  • Treat all members of the school community, colleagues and students, with respect and consideration;
  • Treat all students fairly, consistently and without prejudice;
  • Set a good example to students in terms of appropriate dress, standards of punctuality and attendance;
  • Promote the aims of the school by attendance at and participation in events such as open day (as appropriate to individual responsibilities);
  • Take responsibility for own professional development and participate in staff training when provided;
  • Participate in the management of the school by effective participation in various teachers and staff meetings;
  • Undertake duties as prescribed within academy policies (Homework sheet, lesson plan, study guide, etc.
  • Ensure that all deadlines are met as published in the school calendar or provided by academic office.
  • Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned to by the academic office;
